Once upon a time, the band had a website—bishopallen.com—with what appears to have been a loosely connected, fan-run forum. On it, fans traded live recordings, discussed demos and unreleased music, and generally did all the wonderful things fan communities do. Eventually the forum drifted away from the main site, and then disappeared entirely.
Fortunately, portions of it survive through the Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine. Many threads are missing, and most internal links are dead, but what remains is a fantastic snapshot of the band’s history as told by fans—especially from 2004 to 2007. Unfortunately, much of it is inaccessible, and I worry about the long-term survival of what is still there.
So, in an effort to “archive the archive,” I built a system that converts those saved posts into readable posts here - 4006 posts from 208 users. These historical posts are clearly marked, and they can even be “revived” with a reply — giving a little breath of life to the old discussions. If you click the 'older' button on the forum a few times - you'll start to see the historical posts.
A few notes:
• If the original creators (the band or anyone else) have any claim to these posts and prefer they remain in the past, just let me know.
• And if a more complete archive of the old forum exists somewhere, I’d love to give it a proper home here.
• And lastly, if you were the person behind one of the posters from the past - I can link a new user account here to those old posts - [like I did for me here].
