it really is just a wide spread idea that for something to be designated "classic" it needs to be 25 years old, it works across the board, music cars etc. However with music, I think it might also tie in with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, I think the minimum age for something to be admitted is 25 years, but I'm not 100% sure.
