Icon A plea for Old Clementines

Do note that this post sounds a bit negative. I completely approve of the EP project, but this is simply an honest plea to let some original versions be heard.

So, it is here. The final verson of "Click Click Click Click." Oh look, they killed the song I fell in love with.

Yeah, this is a great little ditty, simple and acoustic building up to a little bit more intensity. And it's a great song. The only issue is I've heard it live, the way it used to be played. And that's the way I loved it, the way I expected it.

If you'll recall, more than a few months back, after reviewing my videos of the last show at the original Tank, one of the things I loved so very much was the bass solo. In fact, I found it, mysteriously, to be my favorite part of all of Clementines, as far as I could tell. I stated somewhere on these boards that I really, really wanted to hear that bass solo on the final version. That solo made me want to be a bassist. (though I haven't followed up on this, I still want to take lessons)

I understand how you want to get these songs out there, and I suppose I understand that you want to fit them in with the EP's. I suppose I understand why you don't want to release old Clementines after all this. But please, by all means, do let us hear it. Honestly, I don't care how rough they sound, how demo-y. These songs do exist in these original forms, and they deserved to be heard. This is all I ask.
