I am quite honestly content with being a message board reader. I'm not a regular poster on any board for reasons similar to this thread. This is a great place to rely on for news and even good gossip. I like reading opinions of others, because it helps validate my own. Were I to have a question or request of Bishop Allen, I might consider using their contact e-mail. I have this feeling that anything said on these boards, even when directed specifically toward the band, is meant for peers to read and respond to as well. I actually know this to be true, given the nature of this online device. If you're that interested, I'll tell you that I think Bubba Da Cat had, although profane, a good point. There does occasionally tend to be a backlash on persons posting criticism or anything but positive feedback. I also understand that. If you post here regularly, Bishop Allen is (one of) your favorite bands and it's natural to want to stick up for them in any scenario. But the way these message board conversations go is very out of touch with reality. Imagine, if you will, this thread being vocalized as a conversation between a handful of people. It seems to me that it'd* have gone differently. I personally enjoy this message board more than most I frequent (I find that Polyvinyl's board is almost intolerable). And I do agree that it seems a little awkward or poorly-timed, at best, to be asking Bishop Allen for any more material this year. I know that's been said to death. Hell, I round-about asked for digi-pressings of January and February. It's natural to have desires, and when a band comes so close to being everything you could want in a band, it seems only fair to ask for that little extra that will, in your books, make them gods. I'm starting to ramble, so I'll sum up...
Dear Bishop Allen, please sell us MP3 CDR's of all the Clementines demos in recorded existence. We expect no less than six demos for every song you've written. Charge a fair price, accordingly. Thanks so much. -Your fans.
Dear Bishop Allen Fans, please don't (under any circumstances) request to hear, purchase, borrow, or rent any Bishop Allen song or demo not already made available for purchase on a 2006 month EP or Charm School. Forget you heard them. Love the new material and changes to the songs you only thought you heard live. Thanks so much. -Your band.

I would generally leave it at that, but I genuinely don't want any offense taken. That was an attempt at humor, failed or otherwise. My point is, very simply that the validity of a conversation that goes as follows is questionable.
"I want 1A."
"You shouldn't. You have 1B."
"You're wrong in saying I shouldn't want 1A."
"You're wrong in saying I said you shouldn't WANT 1A."
"You're wrong in saying you didn't say I shouldn't want 1A."
"You're wrong in saying I said I didn't say you shouldn't want 1A."
"I am quite honestly content with being a message board reader..."

Have a great day, and enjoy the new and old EPs (if you can).
Tim.

*when will "it'd" be made a proper contraction?
